I think that no one but David Lynch should direct Cien Anos De Soledad.
Absurd, surrealism - everything is sooo Lynch-like, just the perfect match.
Although delirium and nightmares are simple and natural for Markes, whereas Lynch always separates reality and nightmare, old Dave would definitely do the task and make this pathology an inartificial part of characters' life.
